Vol. 52 No. 17

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 2 and 4.

Might I inquire when it is proposed to give time. to No. 3—the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Bill I960? I have asked that question on several occasions and no satisfactory answer has been given.

I was hoping that if the speeches by certain Senators were not so long and made so often as they were we might have reached it before now. Unfortunately, time does not permit. We shall take it as soon as possible.

I do not think the Order of Business should depend upon the length of speeches made by any Senators. There should be some attempt by the Leader of the House to provide time. The Chair should see to it, in my respectful submission.

When is it proposed to take the motions? These have been on the Order Paper for a considerable time.

I was about to say that Senator Stanford's motion would have to come before the Bill referred to by Senator O'Quigley. We hope to take that also at the first opportunity.
