Vol. 54 No. 6

Suspension of Senator.

I move:

That Senator L'Estrange be suspended from the service of the House.

Senator Ó Maoláin has moved that Senator L'Estrange be suspended from the service of the House.

On this occasion, not for one night, if there is any provision in Standing Orders to enable us to get rid of him for a while.

Question put and agreed to, Senators Burke, O'Quigley, L'Estrange and Donegan dissenting.

Senator L'Estrange will withdraw from the House.

I will not.

I call on the officers of the House to remove Senator L'Estrange from the House.

I will go, Sir, when I am ready. I have to collect my documents. I am not going without them. Fianna Fáil can use their majority to put out any member of the House. It is all right. I want to explain that I was in order.

The Senator will withdraw from the House immediately.

Senator L'Estrange withdrew.
