Vol. 101 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

As the Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rents) (Amendment) Bill has concluded, I understand that the Leader of the House suggested that the motion be taken at 5.30 p.m. or earlier at the conclusion of the other business. There remains to be completed on the Order of Business today, in addition to the motion standing in the name of the Labour Party Senators, the Criminal Justice (Community Service) Bill, 1983. We are in the hands of the House with regard to whether or not we take that item from now until 5.30 p.m. or whether we take the motion at this stage.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I was in the Chair when the Leader of the Government indicated that if we finished the last Bill earlier we might not start the Criminal Justice Bill but take the motion or else I misunderstood the Leader of the House.

If that is the suggestion, the arrangement now is that the Minister for Justice will be here at 5.15 p.m. so I suggest a sos until 5.15 p.m.

Sitting suspended at 5.05 p.m. and resumed at 5.15 p.m.
