Vol. 104 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

On the business of the House, our next item of business is the Irish Steel Bill. The principle of the Bill is not a matter of controversy. The particular sections are not complex. While we had made the order this morning that we would adjourn from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., I would suggest that if there seems a chance of finishing the Irish Steel Bill by 1.30 p.m., we should carry on from 1 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. If, on the other hand, it does not seem possible, we could adjourn as ordered.

I have no disagreement with that, except to say generally that when you try to anticipate developments in that way they seem not to develop in the way you had hoped.

I know, but I am still trying.
