Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 5 Jun 1985

Vol. 108 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

Acting Chairman

Would the Deputy Leader of the House say when it is proposed to meet again?

It is proposed to meet on Wednesday, 26 June 1985, at 2.30 p.m.

Would the Deputy Leader of the House explain how this date was reached, who was consulted about it?

I have announced the next sitting day.

I have not agreed to what the Deputy Leader of the House proposed.

I have proposed the adjournment of the House until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 26 June 1985.

I oppose that proposal and propose that the House meet next week.

Acting Chairman

The question is: "That the House stands adjourned until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 26 June 1985".

Can we make a counter proposal? I propose that the House meet next Wednesday because there are at least six Bills on the Order Paper to be dealt with.

Acting Chairman

Would you please resume your seat? When the question has been put, there can be no further debate. The question is: "That the House stands adjourned until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 26 June 1985".

Senators

Votáil.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

Will the Senators claiming a division please rise?

Senators Ross and B. Ryan rose.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I declare the question carried as fewer than five Senators have risen. The names of the Senators dissenting will be recorded in the Journal of the Proceedings of the Seanad.

The Seanad adjourned at 8.05 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 26 June 1985.
