Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 19 Jun 1986

Vol. 113 No. 9

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take items Nos. 1 to 6 as they appear on the Order Paper. Nos. 1 and 2 are Money Bills. That is why they are being brought forward today. No. 3 is not a Money Bill but almost a Money Bill. I am grateful to the Opposition for their agreement to take this Bill today. In regard to Nos. 4 and 5, the Second Stage debate has been commenced in each case. It is proposed to continue with the Second Stage debate today but not to conclude it. In each case the Minister responsible has a public engagement elsewhere and would be anxious to reply in person to the debate. Therefore, the proposition is, in regard to Nos. 4 and 5 coupled with No. 6, that the debate would be continued as long as Senators are offering and that the debate would be adjourned and completed next week. I think it would be appropriate to suspend the sitting for an hour at some suitable time in the business around 12.30 or 1 p.m.

Order of Business agreed to.
