Vol. 113 No. 11

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and 8 together. It is proposed to take a luncheon break at a convenient time in the business. The reason the Courts Bill, No. 2, which is high on the Order Paper, is not being taken is that there is a possibility of an additional Government amendment and the consideration of it is not complete. It will be taken next week.

Order of Business agreed to.

I have received an amendment to section 18 of the Companies Bill, but I received it only this morning. The Chair should have had it on Monday morning. I am allowing it under the section as we will have a Government amendment coming in for the Courts Bill this evening, which is not giving due notice to the Members of the Seanad. I am apologising to the Members but it was not my fault.

On a point of explanation, in case of a misunderstanding, it is not the intention to put down a Government amendment on the Courts Bill and ask for it to be taken today. The Courts Bill is not ordered for today because we wish to give the amendment full consideration and to give full notice.

Before the Committee Stage begins I want to draw attention to a printing error in the list of amendments where the word "question" is misspelt.
