Jurisdiction of Courts and Enforcement of Judgments (European Communities) Bill, 1986: Order for Second Stage.

I move:

That the Second Stage be ordered for Wednesday, 14 January 1986.

The only function we have today is to order the Second Stage of this Bill. My effort to have Bills introduced into the Seanad is now causing me some embarrassment because of the large number of Bills that have been introduced into the Seanad. Senators will agree that, with the amount of business we already have in hand, there is no point in ordering Second Stage of this Bill to be taken before we adjourn for the Christmas Recess. Accordingly, I suggest the date of Wednesday, 14 January for Second Stage of the Bill. It does not mean that either the Bill must necessarily be taken on that day or that the House must necessarily meet.

Is that saying we are coming back on January 14?

It is saying that at the moment it is in my mind to come back on that date but the decision does not bind us to come back on that date.
