Vol. 120 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

May I ask the Leader of the House to clarify the agenda because, in fairness, I think some Senators are not too clear on the agenda for the rest of the day? I know we are taking the Insurance (Export Guarantees) Bill, 1988, now.

Item No. 2 will now commence. We then go to item No. 6, then to item No. 4. Item No. 7 will be taken between 6.30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Could the Leader of the House explain if there is a particular time at which item No. 5 is to be taken?

I have asked the question for the benefit of all, to help you. But we cannot go back to the Order of Business now.

Does it mean that item No. 3 is not now being taken?

Item No. 3 is out now. We are taking items Nos. 2, 6, 4 and 7.

Why is item No. 5 not being taken? It was announced this morning that it was being taken. That is a change from the Order of Business as announced this morning.

I was just trying to give the House an indication as to what might happen. It appears that we will only be able to take items Nos. 2, 6 and 4 today. We will take item No. 7 from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and we will conclude business at 10 p.m. The only change in the Order of Business, as I read it out this morning, is that item No. 3 will not be taken. That is the only guarantee I can give.
