Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 7 Jul 1988

Vol. 120 No. 14

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Joe O'Toole that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need to establish a pilot scheme for Teilifís na Gaeltachta because £0.5 million has been set aside from the national lottery by the Government since November last for this scheme.

I also received notice from Senator John A. Murphy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to clarify the Government's attitude to the Mawhinney proposals on integrated education in Northern Ireland.

I also received notice from Senator Philip Hogan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to retain the school transport service to Tullaroan national school, County Kilkenny, as operated for the school year 1987-88.

I also received notice from Senator Katharine Bulbulia of the following matter:

In view of the several changes in the international patent scene, the need for the Minister for Industry and Commerce to indicate how this will affect the workings of the Patents Office.

I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Labour to restore funding to ensure commencement of work on community projects under the social employment scheme in the following places in County Roscommon: Ballaghadereen, Roscommon town, Frenchpark, Loughrea, Elphin and Tarmonsbarry.

I regard the matters raised by Senators O'Toole, Murphy, Hogan, Bulbulia and Connor as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment of this House. I have selected Senator O'Toole's motion and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Murphy, Hogan, Bulbulia and Connor may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
