Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 9 Nov 1988

Vol. 121 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Seantor Joe Doyle that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

In view of the deteriorating air quality in Dublin, the need for the Minister for the Environment to sanction the Special Control Area (Ballyfermot) Order, 1988, sought under section 39 of the Air Pollution Act, 1987 and to initiate a public awareness campaign for citizens residing outside the area covered by the Order of the existence and availability of alternative non-polluting fuels at little or no extra cost to the public.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Doyle as suitable for discussion and it will be taken from 8 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. or earlier if business has been concluded.
