Vol. 121 No. 19

Order of Business.

It is intended to take Items No. 1, 2 and 3 today, that Items No. 1 and 2 be concluded at 5.30 p.m. and that we take Item No. 3 from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Is the Order of Business agreed?

May I ask if you would intervene on a particular matter? I find that here in the House there is great difficulty in regard to space for Members to meet delegations and I wonder if there is any way you can look into this? There are only two rooms in Setanta and it reduces our opportunities to meet delegations.

I will deal with that immediately in the Committee on Procedure and Privileges. We have no meeting this week but we will have one early next week and I will raise this matter for you.

May I repeat a request I made to you some time ago? Senator Ross and I have a motion on the Order Paper to deal with the experiences of handicapped people. At a previous stage I requested you, as a matter of urgency, to have the Committee on Procedure and Privileges discuss the refusal to allow myself to hold a press conference in connection with that matter in the House. You undertook at that stage to have it done expeditiously and I must say I am somewhat disappointed that nothing has happened since. I would ask you to pursue the matter. Somebody decided that Members of the Oireachtas could not use the Houses of the Oireachtas——

Senator Ryan, it is on the agenda for our meeting. You have your representative on that committee. Is the Order of Business agreed? Agreed.

Order of Business agreed to.
