I also received notice from Senator Gerry Reynolds of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs in view of the joint statement following a meeting of the Anglo-Irish Conference to state what steps are being taken to proceed with the restoration of the Ballyconnell-Ballinamore Canal.
I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Health to intervene to stop the precipitate closure of St. Patrick's Psychiatric Hospital, Castlerea, at any time during the coming year and that the Minister make a statement on the future of this hospital.
I regard the matters raised by Senators Murphy, Manning, Reynolds and Connor as suitable for discussion. I have selected the matter raised by Senator Murphy and it will be taken at the conclusion of business.
