Vol. 125 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Eamon Ó Cuív that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Energy to outline what plans he has for the development of further timber pulp users to ensure adequate outlets for the residues of timber mills which are vital to their viability.

I also received notice from Senator Mary Jackman of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to confer official sanction on Kilfinan Education Centre, County Limerick.

Tá fógra agam ón Seanadóir Pól Ó Foighil:

Go ndéanfadh an tAire Comhshaoil a shocrú go ndéanfaí scrúdú láithreach leis an bpríomh-bóthar ó Chloch na Rón go dtí An Clochán a athghrádú le go mbéadh sé in ann busanna tuarasóireachta a thógáil.

I also received notice from Senator Dan Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to alleviate the enormous delays and the deteriorating position in the Land Registry, and to make a statement on the future efficiency of the registry.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ó Cuív, Jackman and Neville as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Ó Cuív's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Jackman and Neville may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.

I regret that I have to rule the matter raised by Senator Ó Foighil is not suitable for the Adjournment on the ground of lack of ministerial responsibility.
