Vol. 126 No. 3

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Éamon Ó Cuív that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Energy to extend the subsidy scheme for new and extended electricity supply to farmers, to all bona fide farmers irrespective of whether they have an off-farm income.

I also received notice from Senator Patrick Kennedy of the following matter:

The location and development of St. Gabriel's school and clinic in Limerick for the physical handicapped, and the provision of a physical medical service for physically handicapped children on a site adjoining St. Paul's School, Dooradoyle, Limerick, to serve the need of the Mid-Western Health Board area.

I also received notice from Senator Mary Jackman of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to consider the case submitted to him for the extension of the provision of the western development fund to the Sliabh Phelim region of north-east Limerick-north-west Tipperary.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ó Cuív, Kennedy and Jackman as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matter raised by Senator Ó Cuív and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Kennedy and Jackman may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.

The Adjournment will only be taken at the conclusion of business if item No. 2 on today's Order Paper is not passed.
