Allocation of Time: Motions.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in the Standing Orders relative to Public Business, item 3b, on today's Supplementary Order Paper shall be decided without amendment or debate.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in the Standing Orders relative to Public Business,

(1) the motion for the adjournment of the Seanad shall be moved not later than 12 midnight today;

(2) on Friday, 17th May, the Seanad shall meet at 10.30 a.m. and, unless it shall be otherwise ordered on motion made by the Leader of the House or such other Senator as he may authorise in that behalf:

(a) the business to be taken shall be confined to the Local Government Bill, 1991, and the motion of concurrence with the earlier signature of the Bill by the President;

(b) the proceedings on the Bill and on the motion of concurrence with the earlier signature of the Bill by the President, if not previously concluded, shall be brought to a conclusion at the times indicated in the schedule to this paragraph, by one question in each case, which shall be put from the Chair, and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only amendments set down by the Government or the Leader of the House; provided that if a division or claim therefor is in progress at the time indicated, the question shall be put as soon as possible thereafter.

Schedule

Local Government Bill, 1991 (Second Stage): proceedings to conclude by: 1 p.m.

Local Government Bill, 1991 (Remaining Stages) and Earlier Signature Motion: proceedings to conclude by 8 p.m.

(d) the sitting shall be suspended from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.; and

(e) Standing Orders 28 and 29 shall stand suspended.
