Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 6 Jun 1991

Vol. 129 No. 8

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Dardis that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food and the Disadvantaged Areas Appeals Panel to rectify the disproportioned exclusion of areas of County Kildare, compared to all other countries, under the extension of the disadvantaged areas.

I also received notice from Senator Cosgrave of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to provide emergency temporary accommodation for juvenile offenders; and to review the overall situation, particularly in the light of repeated remarks by members of the Judiciary.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Dardis and Cosgrave as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Dardis' matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Cosgrave may give notice another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
