Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 1 Dec 1993

Vol. 138 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator McDonagh that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide funds through the regional co-ordinating committee with flexibility to allow the John Paul Centre in Galway and other such centres in Galway city and county to develop urgently needed additional services.

I have also received notice from Senator McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide funding for an extension to St. Columba's College, Stranorlar, County Donegal, which was built for 500 students but now has 1,200 in very overcrowded conditions.

I have also received notice from Senator Maloney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to carry out an investigation into the administration of Letterkenny regional technical college, County Donegal, and if she is satisfied that the affairs of the college are in order.

I regard the matters raised by Senators McDonagh and McGowan as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule the matter raised by Senator Maloney as not suitable for discussion on the Adjournment as it relates to a matter that is sub judice.
