Vol. 140 No. 19

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Cregan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to outline to the House the up-to-date position in Irish Steel.

I have also received notice from Senator Magner of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to outline the developments, if any, which have taken place since the publication of the report on the Oireachtas Library facilities.

I have also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to support Resolution 47/19 of the United Nations General Assembly entitled Necessity of Ending Economic, Commercial and Financial Embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.

I have also received notice from Senator Cotter of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to take note of the difficulties facing both the settled population and itinerant families because of the very poor conditions at the halting site outside of Castleblayney, County Monaghan, and the danger of a complete breakdown of inter-community relationships.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Cregan's and Senator Magner's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Neville and Senator Cotter may give notice on another day of the matter they wish to raise.
