Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Wall that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he wishes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to outline the action she intends to take on foot of the 1991 report on the code of practice for safety at sports arenas and the concern of all sporting organisations at this inaction.

I have also received notice from Senator Roche of the following matter:

Recognising the widespread concern that, exists throughout the country, but in particular on the east coast, at the ongoing operations of British Nuclear Fuels at Windscale, Sellafield, the need for the Government to publicly support, fund and seek to join in the further legal actions against BNFL's THORP plant at Sellafield.

I have also received notice from Senator Kelly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to examine the possibility of transferring the Garda responsibility for Croom and adjoining areas from Askeaton to Limerick city.

I have also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to appoint a remedial teacher to Croagh, Kilfinny, Cappagh, Coolcappa and Kilcoman schools in County Limerick.

I have also received notice from Senator Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to provide funding for upgrading the swimming pool and facilities at Castlebar, County Mayo.

I have also received notice from Senator Mulcahy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to clarify when the recommendations of the report on violence at Lansdowne Road will be implemented.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Wall's and Senator Roche's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
