Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 6 Dec 1995

Vol. 145 No. 11

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Mulcahy that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement in relation to the proposed physical education hall for St. MacDara's community college, Templeogue, given that the children attending this school have been deprived of proper physical education facilities and given that the promised funding for the design and planning phase of this hall announced on 6 April 1995 has not, as yet, been forthcoming.

I also received notice from Senator Henry of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to publish the review of services to people with physical and sensory disabilities which was commissioned over three years ago.

I also received notice from Senator Rory Kiely of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to provide assistance to the Neodata plant in Newcastlewest and Kilmallock, County Limerick, which is due to close at Christmas.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to ensure that State agencies immediately find replacement industries following the closure of the Neodata factories in Newcastlewest and Kilmallock, County Limerick.

I also received notice from Senator Sherlock of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Justice if she is satisfied with the criteria that apply to the granting of lottery licences.

I also received notice from Senator McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Government to recognise cross-Border structures where elected members from both sides of the Border come together to implement a development plan for the regions.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Henry's and Senator Mulcahy's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
