Vol. 146 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Maloney that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide funding to Letterkenny General Hospital for an increase in nursing staff at the hospital, which is at present inadequate.

I have also received notice from Senator Neville on the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to include the Army and Garda representative associations in the negotiations leading up to national wage agreements.

I have also received notice from Senator Norris on the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to issue an invitation to the representatives of ISHOF to make a presentation to the Government regarding the possibility of establishing an international equine centre at Ringsend.

I have also received notice from Senator Honan on the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Health when he proposes to introduce the child abuse register as recommended in the report on the Kilkenny incest case.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Maloney's and Senator Neville's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matter they wish to raise.
