It is proposed to take items 1 and 2. Item 1, Second Stage of the Voluntary Health Insurance (Amendment) Bill, will be taken until 1 p.m. with 20 minutes for each speaker, if that is sufficient. Item 2 will be taken between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. with 20 minutes for each speaker. Members may share time on item 2.
Order of Business.
Will Second Stage of the VHI Bill continue if necessary? Will the item in relation to broadcasting remain on the Order Paper for another day to allow other Senators who are not present to contribute to that important debate?
The answer to both questions raised by the leader of the Opposition is yes. If Second Stage of the VHI Bill has not concluded by 1 p.m., the debate will be adjourned. The statements on broadcasting will remain open, but I hope the debate will not collapse today.
