Vol. 148 No. 1

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Kennedy that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to establish an independent living fund to provide self-determination, responsibility and control for Irish people with disabilities.

I have also received notice from Senator Sherlock of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide adequate accommodation for 180 pupils and eight teachers at Gaelscoil Tomás Dáibhis in Mallow, County Cork.

I have also received notice from Senator Daly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to expedite the provision of a new primary school for Kilkee, County Clare, in view of the fact that the convent school has been condemned: and the reason for the delay in proceeding with the project.

I have also received notice from Senator McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Welfare to make a statement on the student summer jobs scheme.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators O'Kennedy's and Sherlock's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Daly and McGowan may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
