Seanad Éireann debate -

Vol. 155 No. 1

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Tom Hayes that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

In view of the large number of factory closures in south Tipperary over the past year, the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to accept the proposal recently submitted by South Tipperary County Council to include Tipperary town and Carrick-on-Suir in the order of priority for urban renewal.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to provide additional funding for the breast clinic at St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, as the hospital has only one outpatients' clinic per week to cater for hundreds of women from all over Ireland, who then have to queue for hours at a time in order to be treated.

I have also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to make available for academic research its files on reformatory and industrial schools 1924-68.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Tom Hayes and O'Meara as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Costello may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
