Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 18 Nov 1998

Vol. 157 No. 4

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Jackman that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to make lottery funding available immediately towards the appointment of a disability awareness trainer and assistant for the Mid-Western Health Board area.

I have also received notice from Senator Avril Doyle of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the duration of the post-graduate course in primary education.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to address the urgent matter of the threatened disbanding of the adoption assessment team of social workers by the Eastern Health Board as reported in the national media at the weekend.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Jackman's and Doyle's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator O'Meara may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
