Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 19 Nov 1998

Vol. 157 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Meara that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to address the urgent matter of the threatened disbanding of the adoption assessment team of social workers by the Eastern Health Board as reported in the national media at the weekend.

I have also received notice from Senator Tom Hayes of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to outline the reasons for the delay in filling the advance factory at Cashel in County Tipperary.

I regard the matter raised by Senator O'Meara as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Hayes as the Minister has no official responsibility in relation to the matter.
