I announce to the Seanad that I have received notice in writing from Senator Pat Gallagher of his resignation of membership of the Seanad. I thank the Senator for his co-operation and assistance during his time as a Member of the House. He was a most diligent and hard working Senator. I congratulate him on his appointment to a prestigious position in the public service and I wish him well for the future.
