Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 12 Apr 2001

Vol. 166 No. 6

Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations, 2001: Motion.

I move:

That Seanad Éireann approves the following Regulations in draft:–

Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations, 2001,

a copy of which Regulations in draft form were laid before Seanad Éireann on 5th April, 2001.

Does this item refer to the concert in Slane?

What effect will the regulations have?

They will allow a second concert to take place.

Does it mean a second concert may be held with full planning permission? Do the regulations allow planning application to be made for a second concert? Members would like to be clear about what the regulations mean.

The House decided to take this motion without debate.

Senator O'Toole asked for clarification on this matter. I do not think it was given.

The Chair has no control over the content of the Leader's reply to matters raised on the Order of Business. I am not in a position to clarify the situation for you, Senator.

Thank you.

Question put and agreed to.
