I have received notice from Senator Ulick Burke that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to instruct his senior veterinary officials to provide farmers with access to movement permits and identity cards for their livestock in the areas where the strike of clerical staff prevents farmers accessing their entitlement, and to process REPS applications and farm grants that have been unattended since November 2000 which is causing financial hardship to those families.
I have also received notice from Senator John Paul Phelan on the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to increase funding for Irish emigrant welfare organisations in Australia.
I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
