I welcome the Minister for the Environment and Local Government, Deputy Dempsey, and his officials to the meeting. The committee's task is to resume consideration of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Bill, 1998 [Seanad] - Committee Stage. Subject to the agreement of the committee, I suggest that we consider the Bill until at least 5.30 p.m. If the committee has not concluded consideration of the Bill by then, a further meeting will be scheduled. Is that agreed? Agreed. I also suggest that the committee suspend proceedings at 1 p.m. until 2.15 p.m.

Instead may I suggest that the committee suspend from 1 p.m. until 2.30 p.m.?

Is Deputy Dukes' suggestion agreed? Agreed.
