SECTION 18.

I move amendment No. 9:

In page 10, line 34, after "Board" to insert "in any case in which the Board so requests the trustees by notice in writing".

This amendment is being introduced to clarify that the annual reports of pension schemes under disclosure provisions need only be sent to the Pensions Board when it requests them. Otherwise, all schemes would have to submit their annual reports to the board and this would not be practicable or feasible. Section 18 will allow the board to request reports, on a random basis to check compliance with the provisions of the Pensions Act and in specific cases where, for example, the board might receive a complaint or be undertaking an investigation.
