Special Committee Companies Bill, 1962 debate -
Tuesday, 15 Jan 1963

SECTION 58.

Question proposed : " That Section 58 stand part of the Bill. "

This is much the same as Section 88 of the 1908 Act. The purpose is to ensure that information available to the public in the Registrar's Office shall be up to date at all times.

Is there a conflict between this section which refers to ' descriptions " and Section 116 which requires the Register of Members to state the occupation of members ?

Deputy Byrne will be aware that the chartered accountants as a body have raised this officially with us. This is one of the points to which I referred on the last day as being under consideration.

You have not yet had a look at it.

Question put and agreed to.
