531 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons for the delay in admitting a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny to Beaumont Hospital for surgery; if the matter will be expedited in view of the fact that this person had a stroke in March 2004 and the case is urgent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of services for people resident in County Kilkenny is, in the first instance, a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
