195 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding a person (details supplied) in County Carlow who is waiting to be admitted to Cappagh Hospital to have their hip replaced (details supplied); if in view of the fact that they suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and is in a lot of pain; if this appointment can be expedited; if they can be admitted as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of services for people resident in County Carlow is, in the first instance, a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
