I am satisfied that the Garda authorities continuously monitor and analyse the needs of the Garda organisation in the context of the changing patterns in the nature of crime.

As part of this process, the Garda requirements in relation to communications and other technologies are subject to continuous assessment. As and when new requirements are identified, the Government and I have not been and will not be found wanting in responding to these needs.
