The Dunmore, Kilkerrin and Leenane sewerage schemes have been approved for construction under the rural towns and villages initiative of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government's water services investment programme. Galway County Council's tender documents for the waste water treatment plants, which will be constructed under a grouped design, build and operate contract, are being examined in the Department and will be dealt with as quickly as possible. The council's tender recommendation in respect of three collection systems will be further considered when additional information requested from the council earlier this month has been received.
