View answerThe licence fee, also described as the State's share of the gross toll revenues, payable by NTR to the State under the terms of the West-Link Bridge toll agreement was reduced by €2.902 million in respect of 2002 and €3.529 million in respect of 2003. The total licence fee paid to the State in respect of 2002 and 2003 toll revenues was €7.585 million and €8.044 million, respectively.
The licence fee was reduced, as part of the agreement between the NRA and NTR in relation to the construction of the second West-Link Bridge, in order to moderate and phase toll increases, attributable to the cost of the second bridge and the imposition of VAT from September 2001.
