181 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Question No. 162 of 24 February 2005, the way in which the person may enter and leave the State while the application for leave to remain and the application for post-nuptial citizenship are both pending; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The person in question is free to leave the State at any time. As a visa requiring national he must be in possession of a valid Irish visa to allow him travel to the State. It is not the policy of my Department to assist persons who do not have leave to remain in the State with a re-entry visa prior to travelling.
