View answerUnder Article 3.3 of the Kyoto Protocol, forests planted since 1990 are eligible for carbon accounting purposes. On this basis, the total carbon sequestration capacity of forests in 2006 amounts to approximately 1.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.
