450 Deputy Brian O’Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 571 of 26 June 2007, if she will confirm that a person (details supplied) has completed the assessment of the submission made by the governing body of Waterford Institute of Technology and is awaiting her invitation to present the assessment to her; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I understand that Dr. Jim Port has had a series of meetings with a range of interested parties and is currently finalising a report of his preliminary examination of the case put forward by Waterford Institute of Technology for a review of its status. Dr. Port will submit his report to me as soon as he has completed it. I expect to receive it in the coming weeks.
