Questions (198)

Sean Fleming

Question:

246 Deputy Seán Fleming asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason it takes so long to issue post-mortem and autopsy results from the Health Service Executive, Pathology Department, Midlands, Regional Hospital, Tullamore in respect of patients who died in the hospital; and her views on whether this delay is acceptable as the coroner can not issue a death certificate until these reports are received. The information sought by the Deputy relates to matters within the area of responsibility of the Health Service Executive. My Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued to the Deputy.
