93 Deputy Brian O’Shea asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will phase out incandescent light bulbs over a period of years, as opposed to his original announced intention to ban incandescent bulbs completely by January 2009; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to the reply to Question No. 929 of 17 June 2008. The position has not changed. I will announce details of the proposed energy efficiency standard for lighting, including arrangements for public consultation, as soon as they are finalised.
