View answerThe person concerned arrived in the State on 7 October 1996 and applied for asylum. Her asylum application was refused following the consideration of her case by the Asylum Division. However, as an exceptional measure she was granted temporary permission to remain in the State on 17 June 1997. This permission to remain was subsequently renewed on a yearly basis and is valid up until 20 August 2008.
