337 Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Finance further to Parliamentary Question No. 179 of 4 December 2007 the outcome of the Office of Public Works contact with a local authority regarding an option to alleviate a flooding problem at a location (details supplied) in County Mayo; the timeframe in which this problem will be rectified; and the measures that will be used. Following contact between the Office of Public Works and Mayo County Council, works to the existing storm drainage system were identified as a possible option to alleviate the flooding problem. As responsibility for this system lies with the Council, it is a matter for that authority to address.
