The flood study referred to was prepared by OPW in consultation with the Council. The study has identified works to deal with the risk of flooding to existing housing, which are considered technically, economically and environmentally viable.

Discussions with the Council have commenced with the intention of advancing the works to construction stage. The provision of funding for the construction works will be dependant on the availability of resources, when the detailed planning process, which is about to commence, has been completed.
