Questions (202)

Emmet Stagg

Question:

203 Deputy Emmet Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that non-payment of moneys due to a contractor (details supplied) who supplied pedestrian control traffic lights at a school is delaying the switching on of the lights as required by the planning permission which issued to the school, thus causing a danger to pupils crossing a busy road; and if he will ensure that the amounts due are paid by his Department. The Department has now cleared for payment the outstanding amount due to the contractor in relation to the pedestrian crossing project at the school referred to the Deputy. It is expected therefore that this matter will be resolved very shortly.
