View answerUnder the terms of the Civil Service Superannuation Schemes, retiring staff are entitled to a lump sum payment and a retirement pension which is based on their length of service and final pensionable remuneration.
In the years 2005-2007, a total of 88 staff retired from my Department. To the end of 2007 the total lump sum payment cost was €7,025,306.94 and the total retirement pension granted was €2,274,168.57.
