180 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of regulators under the control of his Department; the function and responsibility of same; the number of staff employed, their out-turn for 2008 and budget for 2009; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6501/09]
View answerThere are no regulators under the control of my Department. Some of the services provided by the Department of Foreign Affairs have a regulatory element, such as the issuing of passports. However, this relates to a customer service being provided by the Department rather than the regulation of activities by external stakeholders.
