474 Deputy Michael Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the position regarding participants in the REP scheme who die and the possibility of the entitlement of their successors in the farming enterprise to continue participating under the REP scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Previously in REPS it was open to the successors of deceased participants to apply to join the Scheme in their own right. I am aware that with the closure of the Scheme this option is no longer available. Therefore I have asked my officials to draw up guidelines to allow for successors to take over the undertakings of deceased participants and these arrangements will be introduced shortly.
